Welcome to The family Ministry of The Field!

At The Field Church parents play the primary role in discipling their children. Our family ministry exists to equip parents with this vital task. We desire to come alongside parents as they lead their children toward a lifetime of walking with Christ. In partnership with the church and through a framework of faith milestone markers, our families COMMIT to discipling their children the way God’s Word says, CULTIVATE a lifestyle of authentic faith, and CELEBRATE God’s faithfulness.

COMMIT to discipling your child the way God’s word says. God gives parents the primary role in discipling their children.

“Hear O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

This command for parents to teach their children is repeated throughout scripture, and it is the heartbeat of our ministry; above all else, we want our children at TFC to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and strength.

CULTIVATE a lifestyle of authentic faith.

Our aim is for every parent, in partnership with the church, to become a disciple-making parent, raising the next generation up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, (Ephesians 6:4). Our family ministry team exists to help you on this journey by providing the following:

· On Sunday mornings, you can expect a safe, nurturing environment for your children, ages 0-Pre-K. We utilize The Gospel Project curriculum in our toddler and preschool ministry.

· There is no substitute for a child observing his parents during worship, and we value modeling authentic worship for our children. Our kindergarteners remain with their family for the initial worship portion of our service and then transition to their classroom. Our elementary age children and young adults join with their parents for the duration of the worship service each Sunday.

· Sunday evening offers another opportunity for you and your child to join our community through potluck and teaching. Our Kids Care team provides childcare for babies to preschool age children. Additionally, once a month our children and young adults gather in classes for a special time of investment and community building.

· Our children and young adults gather in a variety of other settings throughout the week and month  – Along with prioritizing Sunday worship services and these events, we encourage you to build intentional time throughout your days to invest in your children. God’s most effective shepherd for your child is YOU! We encourage you to incorporate regular family discipleship times as well as “God Moments” (opportunities “as you are going” to point your children to Jesus) into your daily and weekly routines.

CELEBRATE God’s faithfulness!

A Milestone is an event which celebrates a spiritual development point in a child’s life. The milestone path is an intentional way to lead a child toward a lifetime of walking with Christ, all the while trusting in the Holy Spirit to do the work as only He can!

At TFC, we partner with our parents to guide them along the milestone path. When a milestone is reached, growth is celebrated for how God is working.

o Milestone 1: Parent/Child Dedication

o Milestone 2: Transition into Worship Service (5 years old)

o Milestone 3: Preparing for Adolescence (10 years old)

o Milestone 4: Purity for Life (12 years old )

o Milestone 5: Biblical Manhood/Womanhood (14 years old)

o Milestone 6: Life in Christ (16 years old)

o Milestone 7: High School Graduation
