From its conception, the founders of The Field Church have dreamed about all that the Lord might do through our church to expand His kingdom. The Lord has already done abundantly more than we could ever ask or think, but we want to see Him accomplish even more! We desire to see more salvations, more disciple-making disciples, more leaders raised up, and more churches planted! The aim of our effort is worship. We ache to see God make more treasurers of Jesus in our community, in the greater New Orleans area, and around the world. But we know that we cannot accomplish this great task alone. In response to this realization, we are instituting The Field Church Internship.
The Field Church Internship gives aspiring leaders the opportunity to explore, develop, and receive training in vocational ministry. During the first summer period (June 1st– August 1st 2019) we hope to involve 4-6 interns in one of two tracks: Church Planting and General Ministry. Interns will spend their weeks building relationships with the lost in our community, sharing the Gospel, shadowing The Field Church Staff team, assisting in the area of their particular ministry interest, receiving theological training, and worshipping together. The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. We are praying desperately for the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His harvest. This summer, would you consider joining all that the Lord is doing in the greater New Orleans area?
Church Planting Internship
This track will focus on the nuts and bolts of Church planting. What are the theological foundations for church planting? How should one go about evangelism and discipleship? What ministry structures are necessary for a healthy church plant? How does one raise support? Train up servant leaders? These are just a sampling of the many questions that arise in the process church planting. We don’t purport to have it all figured out. However, in the process of church planting, the Lord has taught us a myriad of lessons that we yearn to pass on to the next generation of faithful laborers.
This track allows the participant flexibility to choose between a variety of interests. An intern may choose to focus on Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Worship and Communications, or Counseling. Each intern will assist in areas of teaching, discipleship, administration, volunteer care, and special projects while learning how to effectively oversee their chosen ministry specialty. Regardless of which focus is chosen, each intern will learn invaluable skills that can be applied in any vocational ministry context.
