Elders
God’s Word prescribes two offices within His local churches, elders and deacons (1 Tim 3:1-13); the church is to be led by a plurality of godly men known as elders (Heb 13:7, 17). Scripture is clear that leadership, shepherding, overseeing, teaching, and preaching are delegated to the elders of the local church (1 Tim 5:17; Heb 13:17; 1 Pet 5:1-2). Because of the importance and responsibility of leading and shepherding the Lord’s church, The Field Church has partnered with XL Ministries to train and equip its elders. All men who hold the office of elder at The Field Church meet the qualifications prescribed by God’s Word (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).
