Philosophy of Worship

The Music Ministry at The Field Church exists to glorify God by helping to lead God’s people into worship through hymns, Psalms, and spiritual songs (Col 3:16). We understand that worship is much more than music (Rom 12:1), but, during the worship service, music plays a key role in stirring affections, recalling/teaching deep theological truths, and setting our minds on our risen Savior. We do not attempt to entertain but facilitate congregational singing. We do not seek to sing trendy songs but timeless ones sung by Christians throughout the ages or new ones that will stand the test of time. At the end of the service, we do not wish for people to leave saying how great of musicians we are but, rather, how great a Lord we serve. If you have musical gifts and seek to serve our local body with them we would love to meet you and talk about how God has gifted you musically!
