Family Ministry

Philosophy

At The Field Church, in accordance with God’s Word, parents play the primary role in discipling their children. Our family ministry exists to equip parents with this vital task. We desire to come alongside parents as they lead their children toward a lifetime of treasuring Jesus. In partnership with the church and through a framework of faith milestone markers, our families COMMIT to discipling their children the way God’s Word says, CULTIVATE a lifestyle of authentic faith, and CELEBRATE God’s faithfulness.

COMMIT to discipling your child the way God’s word says.

God gives parents the primary role in discipling their children.

“Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our God, Yahweh is one! You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as phylacteries between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

This command for parents to teach their children is repeated throughout scripture, and it is the heartbeat of our ministry; above all else, we want our children at TFC to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind. (Luke 10:27)

CULTIVATE a lifestyle of authentic faith.

Our aim is for every parent, in partnership with the church, to become a disciple-making parent, raising the next generation up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, (Ephesians 6:4).

CELEBRATE God’s faithfulness.

The milestone path is one intentional way we equip parents to train up a child in the way he should go, all the while trusting in the Holy Spirit to do the work as only He can. (Proverbs 22:6) At TFC, we partner with parents to guide them along the milestone path. When a milestone is reached, growth is celebrated for how God is working.

o  Milestone 1: Parent/Child Dedication

o  Milestone 2: Transition into Worship Service (5 years old/kindergarten)
